Same thing happened to me...the others here are correct...probably a little gear's tooth broke. I found Rick Borth at the following:

Rick walked me through getting the odometer out of the dash by phone and then I sent him the unit and he repaired it for me and had it back to me in a day or two. I think the whole thing cost me about $100.
