As an owner of a 97 850-R, I must say that everything that I have seen come into production after 97 seems to be faster with exception---as long as they are turbo charged then they will perform better than normally aspirated models of the same hp at or greater at high altitude, say Denver, because na engines lose efficiency at greater altitude.

It seems as though every car company has something faster than the R or T5-R now.
