Suzanne,
I also purchased 2 remotes and the receiver from ebay too. They all have the match frequency codes numbers. Another bricker in this board mentioned that when you program the car to a remote, you need to program all the remotes including you existing one and the "new" one got from ebay. Otherwise, the car's receiver only remember that remote just been programmed.
I bought 2 batteries for both remotes because I didn't the condition of those batteries. I had to do it about 3 times to get both remote working. I closed the car door and then turned the key from "0" to "II" five times and left the key in "II" in the fifth time. Then I pressed either "lock" or "unlock" button of the first remote once. Then after about 5 seconds, I pressed a button of the second remote once. Then I turned the key back to "0" position and took the key out. I then tested the remotes to lock and unlock the door while I was still inside the car. Both remotes worked fine.
Good luck.
