Gearshift locked up S80

The gearshift in my 2000 S80 sometimes stays 'locked' in park for several minutes. I've tried everything from wiggling the ignition switch, pressing the unlock on the remote, checking the fuses, and even rocking the car but it will still occasionally gets stuck. When it IS working properly, I can feel the lock mechanism release as I lightly press the brake. Any suggestions?
