S60 and 2 Kids?? S60

My wife and I are considering the S60. I have a 92 940 (+150K) and a 87 740 (+200K). Both cars have been very good to us. Heard a lot of good things about the S60 here and on Edmunds.com. We are trying to avoid the minivan/SUV route.
I have been very happy with the Volvos and would like to stay with them.
Our 940 is really all the room we need (decent back seat and huge trunk). We wondering if anyone out there has an S60 with two carseats in the rear?? Is it really tight?? Are we crazy to consider this car with two kids?? The Volvo SUV is out of our price range and my wife really doesn't want the wagon.
