Using a headset with my S80 Integrated Phones system S80 2003

Bryan, thanks for the detailed help. I am not sure that I can translate from your solution to my problem. Your solution appears to adapt Volvo's integrated speaker and boom microphone to use with your cell phone. I am trying to figure out how to adapt the handest from the integrated phone to use my headset.

Perhaps I am not understanding what you are telling me. Are you saying that I can "cut" the cord on the handset I have and use the wires to connect to a 2.5mm plug for use with a headset? Why do i need an amplifier for that - if there is enough power to drive the handset - shouldn't that be able to drive my headset?
