Reset service light S40-V40 2003

OK...
the results are in:

I tried the dealer's way -- no luck.

I tried the way posted above and success, no more service light in my face at startup. I think the only discrepancy, well.. clarification really, is to let off of the odometer button when it is still blinking, not after it blinks and then stops again. Maybe I read it wrong, but that's what worked for me.
