AC issue...compressor kicks off for long periods of time 850 1995

The electric fan does work and kicks on when the AC turns on. As for the the proper freon level, the evaporator was changed by the Volvo dealer about 20 K miles ago...currently 126K miles on the car. As I said, the compressor cycles on and off at the proper pressures...it does not cycle on and off too quickly as if it was low on freon. Any more suggestions?
