Right side seat back won't release 850 1997

I assume you have a 4door saloon? The 850 saloon has a security feature (should be standard on all cars) whereby you can lock the boot independently of the rest of the vehicle. On most saloons a theif could just get in through the rear seats. However, on the 850 you can lock the folding seat from inside the boot.

Look into the boot at the back of the seat and you will see a little red lever. If it is in the up position then the folding machanism is locked. Simply push the lever into the down position and you will be able to fold the seat.
