K&N Air Filter S70

850Rdawg,

Sound like you have a NON-TURBO Volvo S70. If so, I have the same car as you, and I had my K&N air filter for more than 2 years now.

It is definitely one good investment for this model, as it does improve the acceleration of the Volvo majorly. Although it won't smoke any Mustang V8's,
it will definitely surprised some cars, should you decided to give them a good
surprise.

An example was this morning. This stupid Korean idiot in a red Honda Accord V6
sedan ( the previous-generation ) thinks he owns the fucking road or something,
just because he drives a HONDA. Cutting in and out of traffic, including in front of me. When I chase him, he tried to outrun me, but he can run, but he can't lose me, as I was on his tail all the way. No to mention that he can't even outcorner me. Finally, he got scaried and tried to wave a white flag out of his window, but he got me so boiled up by that time that I actually waited
for him when he ran into the grocery store. When he came out, he tried again to lose me, but my Volvo just kept on his tail. He even ran red lights and
into oncoming lanes just to lose me. Just I previously said, he can run, but he can't hide as I eventually got caught to him without endangering anyone else. Finally, he paid for it, he lose control and skidded into a ditch UPSIDE DOWN. Okay, I admit my ultra-high-performance all-season Bridgestone Potenza RE950 tires and the surperb Volvo braking systems helps a little bit to keep me out of trouble, as they BOTH gripped the road like hell, BUT these two items didn't give the POWER to stay with this idiot throughout the entire 30 minutes.

When I first got it, I even surprised an orange Acura 3.2CL Type-S coupe, when he tried to smoke me off the line at the light and when he was wondering why the else was I was beside him all the way, if not slightly ahead.

I have one on my SUV as well, and let me tell you. Without the K&N air filter,
my stock SUV engine is producing 245 HP and 270 ft/lb. I do not know what is the improvement with the K&N, but I can tell you that in two incidents where someone tried to smoke my SUV, they had to use NOS.

For both of my vehicles, the only performance modification I did are add the
K&N air filter, run on Mobil-1 Synthetic Motor Oil and ATF, and uses only 91 or 94 octanes at the pump.

My advice is if you are thinking about getting the K&N air filter for your NON-TURBO 1998 Volvo S70, go for it. It is one investment you won't regret getting
it. A word of advice is to clean and re-oil it every 3k to 5k; instead of what K&N recommends. You will spent more on the cleaning solution and oil, but
the performance is worth it.

Hope that helps ! ... If I can be more of an assistance to you, please feel free to e-mail me ( news94@hotmail.com ).
