Drivers seat not working 850

My experience (when the cable failed) was the seat back would move
back as a complete unit. But, it would not move back up. (After
about the third time pushing the button to convince yourself that
is the problem the seat ends up too far back to drive the car.)

I think there is a square bar that connects one side of the seat with
the other that might affect what you are seeing. Hard to say for
sure since the innards vary if you have a side air bag (mine has the
air bag, your 93 probably does not).
