Drive Rack diagnosis V70-XC70 1998

My 1998 V70 had the same problem at 90,000 Km. Turns out the steering rack was leaking fluid. This is a sealed unit so it means replacing the rack ($900 for new rack - ouch) I was lucky and found a used unit for $300 out of a fresh wreck. Of course this occured six weeks after warranty expired. Dealer wouldn't do squat.
