In addition to ball joints, suspension bushings and tie rod ends you should look at the short vertical links that attach the sway bar ends to the strut housings (there is one on each side). The small plastic ball joints can go dry or separate or you may have hit a rock or pot hole at one point and broken one. Please remember it may be hard to check a joint or fitting without offloading whatever part of the car's weight is on it so it will be free to move if loose.
