External audio source to stock stereo 850 1994

Yeah, if you tap into the existing cd cable yourself, the head unit won't recognize the ipod. I guess it's looking for an electronic signal to tell it the cd changer is playing.

If you buy the Blitzsafe adapter, there is no hitch. Plug-n-play.
It's a simple 5 minute install once you pull the head unit out of the dash.

The hardest part is snapping a scotch-lok splicer onto a positive power source wire. (It's completely up to you as to how you tap your power source.)

Once you have the power spliced in, then you plug the cable into the back of the head unit. And then you have standard left and right RCA cables hanging out, you can plug in any audio source into that. In my case I can play my portable dvd player through the car's stereo system. It's not quite THX sound, but hey, it works :)
