I like the previous post suggestion of pulling the switch, which is likely at fault. Assuming the sunroof is closed, have her pop out the switch by using tweasers, hairpins, school ruler what ever can pry it out, taking care not to damage the surrounding dash. When looking at the back of the switch, she will see two "tabs" that need to pull away from the switch allowing the harness to come free. Disconnect it and replace switch with new. If the sunroof is stuck open, there is an emergency lever hidden in the interior lamp switch module above the rearview mirror that will crank it closed.
