I did manage to clear it.

The procedure is

1)turn on ignition
2)Connect the flying wire to number 2 hole on the self test point
3)Hold button down for more that 5 seconds
4) when the led lights (aprox 3 seconds after releasing button) hold the button down for a further 5 seconds.
5) press the button once for a short time to get the fault code, should be 1-1-1 to indicate ecu has been cleared.
