No, this is a common misconception. The tire pressure used should
be the one the car manufacturer recommends regardless of the tire
manufacturer. The max pressure on the tire is the max the tire
manufacturer says the tire can take without damage (and possible
failure). Of course, the max number on the tire should never
be exceeded.
