Usually you try to avoid cars from the northeast/midwest area, because of heavy exposure to snow and salt in the winter, which leads to hidden rust in the undercarriage.

Most people from the northeast/midwest area buy cars off eBay that come from the South, including Florida, because these cars are almost guaranteed to be rust free.
