I couldn't be happier. It's such a nice car, there's not another car under $50,000 that I would like better than this one. Great power, fun to drive.
I got mine as a certified preowned (it's a 2000 off lease) with 44K miles. There were various sundry problems with trim and that kind of thing, mostly abuse by the previous owner (not really abuse, just heavy use). The only serious mechanical problems were that the radiator fan controller stopped working, causing the engine to overheat (this was replaced with a revised version and has worked flawlessly for months), and sunroof was screwed up, requiring replacement of the rails and cables. This wasn't necessarily the fault of the car, as I called the previous owner's home dealer and they told me that the sunroof kept jamming and they had to 'modify' it to work properly. It rattled like crazy and eventually broke on me. The repair (if I would have had to pay for it) wouldn't have been very expensive parts-wise, but it required removal of the headliner and would have required close to $700 in labor. The brakes were shot, but at 47K, rotor replacement is reasonable, and new pads every 22-24K is fine as well.
Again, there was tons of stuff wrong at first, but with the exception of the radiator fan and to some extent the sunroof, none of it was related to quality problems.
You'll hear lots of negativity here, as this is a troubleshooting forum. People aren't going to post if they don't have a problem, so you can expect an overwhelming bias towards the negative.
I have yet to decide whether or not I would be comfortable owning this car without warranty. If there are no major problems in the next two years, I will. Otherwise, no. I've had it six months, and have gone for four without a single problem.
