So I bought an Acura. Cheaper, more reliable and much more front seat space. Don't know if all the parts are cheaper (well, some definitely are) but I'm certain that they'll require replacing a lot less often.

The Volvo has been relegated to "Winter Beater" status. I hope to get my goal of 150,000 miles out of it this way. On snow tires and with those heated seats it's not a bad beater at all! BTW, at 131k I'm only on my second set of rotors. Agree about all the rattles and the incredibly funky electricals, though. Then there's the whole HVAC system....
