Tail lights come on by themselves S40-V40 2000

Thanks. If I pull the brake pedal up, the lights usually do turn off.

Funny though, I can stand outside the car, no key in ignition, and watch the lights turn on as soon as the door closes. Not every time, but several times, and at the exact moment the door shuts.

Unfortunately, it also sometimes happens when driving, so have to fix soon.

Any advice on how difficult to fix?

I've been waiting for a manual that covers the 2000 model year, the old manual is 21 pounds/37 dollars shipped to me, maybe I should just pay...
