850 Headlight adjustment solved 850 1997

I went in and pulled the corner light (1 spring in engine compartment-long screwdriver makes it a breeze), Wiper arm (8mm nut hides under little cap), lower trim panel between bumper facia and light (1 side clip and tug out two slide-clips straight out), then the lens (little clpis all around, small screwdriver pops 'em off easy). You are then at the reflector, which is supposed to plug into two ball sockets in rear, and a rubber hose thing that butts up to the adjuster) mine was not only out of whack- off the ball joints, but the metal shield that goes around the low beam light bulb was smooshed underthe bulb. Itwas aesy to reshape with my fingers. Cleaned the lens inside, lubed the ball sockets a bit, and popped it all back togetehr. Total yime involved about 40 minutes. Tools required. One small screwdriver (clips), one long, big screwdiver (pry that spring holder for the corner lights) and a 10mm to run the adjuster into place without using up the plastic gears (use on the end of the shaft going into light. Turns out my lens liked the cleaning noticeably, so the whole adventure was worth it...plus its 7- degrees, and I have the day off. Merry Christmas!
