Dip Bulb Failure S80 1999

I actually mean, "bulb failure dip beam",,,sorry. Any ideas. The problem seems to be intermitent. I can usually clear it by turning the headlights off, pulling back on the highbeam/turn signal lever while I'm holding back on lever I turn the lights back on the message seems to clear. Any ideas?
