After you have checked the bulbs and fuse, then the fault maybe in the switch.

If you have the manual tranny, then there is a reverse light switch on the tranny body that you can replace. If you have the auto tranny, the control of the reverse light is the PNP switch which is located on top of the tranny. Replacement of the PNP switch is a little bit more work. The instruction is located in the Bay13 of the www.volvospeed.com.
