Have a guard also prevents dirt & the elements from tthe components under your car, wire can dry rot if exposed to the elements, even with plastic tubing its an added layer of protection, exessive water splashing on your alternator may cause damage it did on my car. solution new alternator & wire loom . cost more than 4 times the cost of the splash pan !!! Still want to forget about the splash pan, Think again !! ARE Feeling lucky MR !!!!
