and more S80

I have repaired a couple salvaged S80s and sometimes it's no big deal. I once had one where a large tree fell on its roof in a snowstorm (windshield, roof damaged) and over 50" of snow and rain too fell inside. The car initially arrived at our dealership in early summer with a "program key" RO after its very bad bodywork was done. It was at our dealership for 2 months where I'd work on it in my spare time. The owner (a guy at an auto salvage yard) previously replaced the dash and its air bags but the car had many electrical problems. Eventually the car was fixed but he paid for over 40 hours of labor.

As for what I said, I'm not saying that dealers will refuse to try working on salvaged cars BUT it's a fact that now VCNA (Volvo) will NOT help any dealer techs trying to get their technical assistance with any of these salvaged cars. It's officially in writing. Is that BS? To the tech who might need their technical assistance....YES! That could suck and it can also mean more money and hassle to the owner of that car to get it properly repaired right the first time. If a tech seriously needs Volvos tech line support and they then refuse help, THAT could be bad for that tech and that dealer tech who then wouldn't want to be "burned" again might not want to try repairing anymore of THOSE cars in his future. Can a tech or dealer refuse to work on any particular car? YES! Many do.
