Welcome to Volvo, I have a 95 850T5R it has the same problem, has for years. Winter is the big problem. In summer no hint of a problem shifting. I've heared on this web site everything from a bad PNP switch to a PNP switch out of adjustment with the shifter cable, to a transmission compter stratigy during warm-up. I even know other Volvo owners witht the same problem on cars 9 yrs newer. So its either a stratigy or a enginnering problem that they are unable to fix. good luck.
