If I had a Toyota or a Chevy I would go to a fast oil change place but I would not go there with any European car. I occasionally go to a local indi who normally does not work on imports but he is a real mechanic that I have used in the past for my domestics. I have to let him know ahead of time so he can get the filter. I think he charges me about $30 because the filter is costlier and it takes more than 6 quarts of dino juice. I don't understand why you need "battery service" and brake inspection with every oil change. It also sounds like your dealer is bundling services. It's fine if you are due for the services but you should be able to get just the oil changed if that is all you want or need. After all, you are the customer and the one paying for it. Maybe you should make some noise about the services you do not want. Let them know that YOU control the checkbook. The thing about fast oil change places is those people are not real mechanics and they are always trying to sell additional services. The problem with that is, I have found, they don't always know how to put back together what they took apart. My brother took his Saab to one of those places and they were trying to sell air filters that day, so they took apart the air filter housing to gain access to the filter but they were unable to put it back together. Their solution? They were going to push the car out of the bay and leave my brother to his own devices. (My brother had other ideas about that!)
