Looking at a 850 850

Oliver,

Common high mileage problems with the 850:

PNP switch ($95 part plus labor) *
A/C evaporator (pain in the ass and expensive - have to rip out the dash $$$$$)this is one I would really look out for but others may shed some light on how
o2 sensors ($130 each for parts + labor)
tranny (if an auto, do as the others say and check the fluid condition)
front struts (mine went out at about 100k - $400 for parts)
rear main seal with some has been an issue (big labor cost) I haven't had issues - look for oil leaks
car tends to eat brakes more than others I've owned

My two cents, good luck and hope all works out for you. Listen to the advice you get here, it's invaluable - helped me save a lot of $$$$.

* parts purchased at a discount on-line store
