Below I posted a similar situation with my 2002 v70. I called Volvo and they said this is common, this transmission has a neutral feature to save gas and wear on the tranny. When it engages sometimes it does it with a clunk or jerk. They said thsi can be solved with a software update. This update is standard in the 2003 model good luck with your car
