Al right. I think I may get the 1996 850 GLT wagon Non-Turbo (81,000 miles). But I decided not to trade in my 1999 V70 GLT to get it. Really would not have been a good idea. I'd rather sell/trade the 1993 940NA (130,000 miles).
What problems should I look for on a well maintained (1 owner, all service records, T-belt changed at 62,500 miles) 1996 850 GLT wagon with 81,000 miles. Car looks practically new, no leaks, cold AC. If you want to comment on trading the 940, go ahead.
Part of the reasoning for the 850 is that I believe it to be even safer than the 940. The 850 has dual front and side airbags, better ride and handling, and much more power. I've driven it twice and the ride is only slightly less than the V70, and there are no rattles at all. I also figure the 3 years and 50,000 miles difference should put the reliability of the 850 vs 940 at about equal. They will take my 940 plus $2,000 cash (a great dealer in Dallas).
