This may be irrelevant, however, when a new CD unit (Alpine) was installed in my brick, there was no power to the CD (radio and cassette were fine). Unfortunately, since the reset took 2 hours to disengage, the stereo shop couldn't test it before time to close. I brought the car back the following day, and the fix was a switch at the rear of the unit. Took less than two minutes to change.
