YES..emphatically...

I have had the 'pleasure' of seeing a 740 that some idiot had put non volvo coolant in...result we scrapped the car... the engine was suffering SEVERE internal corrosion (note this car had been volvo main dealer maintained for all but 5 years of its life...)..

dont risk it it isnt THAT expensive and it beats a possibly trashed engine..
