If it is a sort of light 'thunk,thunk' as the suspension travels, it just might be the stabilizer links which connect the anti-sway bar. They are a pretty typical wear item and when worn make the front suspensiion rattle as it travels.

Pretty cheap and quick to replace and generally last about 25k - 30k miles.
