I replaced the condenser on an '88 240 I used to have. It was a simple process, you just have to undo the two pipes it's attached to and take the radiator out as well. But first you have to remove the refrigerant in the A/C, then you have to pull a vacuum and refill after replacement. You should be able to do it yourself if you get someone to recover your freon (venting is illegal, even with R-134a, it doesn't effect the ozone layer, but it's still a "greenhouse" gas...in case you didn't already know). You may also want to replace the reciever/dryer. Be lucky it was condenser and not evaporator. Good luck!
