If you want to avoid that problem in the future plus protect front end paint from stone nicks, check out Clear Bra. It is a 3M clear plastic film originally developed to protect the leading edge of aircraft wings and later adapted for cars. I've had mine on for four years (after hassling with the removable bras for a long time) and it looks great--protects headlights and paint. The front end of my car (96 850T)looks new. No yellowing. Cost about $350.00 to have applied. (NOT a DIY project)
