Hi, If the car came from an area nearby with no emmissions testing, it is possible that the bulb was simply removed. I have seen this when the check engine light comes on and the car runs ok. when you reinstall the bulb, the fault will still be there. And it should only take a half hour or so to replace the bulb. good luck!!!
