There was a post several months ago Re: a no start condition related to the alarm system but I forget the specifics. You may try doing a search or, hopefully the poster will check the board and respond. Also, an invisable, thin film of corrosion/oxidation on your battery posts can cause this problem. WHen you attempt to jump start and get only a clicking sound, there is enough current to energize the starter selenoid (that's what you hear clicking) but not enough to crank the engine. I had the same thing happen to my old beloved 1986 Mazda PU last week. Basically a new battery wouldn't do a thing. Jumping only yielded clicking. Pulled the terminals and gave them a reaming with my pocket knife although they looked fine. Rejumped and she fired right up. Good luck.
