Before you spend time locating a bus for your changer, you might want to test it to make sure the crash didn't damage the changer.
I was rear-ended last August, and while the crash didn't affect more than the rear bumper and trunk latch area, it was a total because of the age of the vehicle. We decided to salvage the nearly new Alpine changer and have it installed in the 850 replacement car. Bad decision. The impact skewed the laser enough that it wouldn't play correctly and the stereo shop couldn't adjust it. The factory fix cost twenty bucks more than a new replacement changer, so we got the new one.
