How to remove the fuse block on a 96 850 850 1996

As far as I recall you do have to remove the relays to remove the bottom section. In fact my UK '96 T5 had a label fixed to the fuse box cover saying this.
I think you would be better off getting the codes read, a right rear sensor code would lead me directly to suspect the ECU.
The 'splice' problem was limited to a few cars built between Sept '95 & Jan '96.
