Removing 3rd brake light 850 1995

When I bought my '93 850 the third brake light was not functioning. When I removed the assembly, I found the contacts corroded and broken off just as you described. I ended up having my mechanic replace it, among others when I had it inspected. I think the whole assembly, installed was $30. Try calling FCP Groton to see if they carry the part, it should cost about that much.
