Here's the programming instructions for a "Keyless Entry Remote" for a Volvo 850. They should work with ANY '93 through '97 850 (according to the dealer).

"With all the doors closed, turn the ignition on to the accessory position (it looks like roman numeral II on the ignition) and then back to off 5 times in a row. Then, within 5 seconds, press the lock button on the remote"

You can find used remotes on Ebay for around 20-30 dollars, much cheaper than the dealer price of about $135.00
