Volvo engines do undergo a break-in protocol at the factory but you should change oil well before the 7500mi maintenance. I did my first change at 3600mi.

Afterward, change every 3000mi if you are using non-synthetic oil as it will not hold up due to the heat of the turbo.

Using a full synthetic you can easily go 7500mi.
