A bad AC evaporator sets no code. 850

An evaporator leaks, or it doesn't. If your AC problem, in the past, has always been "repaired" by a "recharge", the evaporator was most likely "a" problem, because you now have a new one. I wouldn't worry about replacing a "good" evaporator, because there aren't too many of those. There are those that have failed, and those that will fail. Your problem now, and maybe before, is most likely electrical.
