S80 Ignition Key S80 2000

I recently had the Electronic Throttle Module, the CEM Module and the Engine Control Module (ECM) replaced in that order before the volvo software downloads would take. The repair process took so long that at one point the Volvo tech charged the battery because it was running down. After these repairs the car seem to be running fine, however, I just tried to start the car using the second of our two ignition keys, no go. All the dash board lights come on as do the front running lights. I can hear a "click", but the engine won't turn over using this key (it did before). There's also a message on the dash indicating an igintion interuption or something and a request to try restarting. No luck. I suspect that the chip in the key needs to be reset because of the change in the electronic components and/or the battery charge. I called our local Volvo dealership and they say bring the car and key down for testing. I would really prefer not to do this since the dealership is over an hour away.

Is there an easy way to reset the key (like locking and unlocking the doors using the key that won't start the car)?? Thanks for the help.
