Transmission locks in reverse S60 2002

The car briefly locks up when I put it in reverse. It feels as though the brake is still engaged. It lasts a second or two, then releases. Had to bring the car in twice 1 year ago for this problem. The dealership finally did a software upgrade (whatever that is). Problem seemed solved, until yesterday when again it locked in reverse. Anyone have a similar problem? Please help. Thank you.
