Which Turbo 850

It's more a matter of the engine management system and the compression ratio of the engine.

All turbo 850s before 1997 in the US were high-pressure, putting out around 220+ HP. In 1997, the 850GLT became a low-pressure turbo, with around 190 HP, and the old "turbo" model became the T5, and has the high pressure turbo engine.

The high-pressure turbo has a lower compression ratio to accomodate more boost, while the low-pressure engines have higher compression ratio which reduces the amount of boost the engine can safely withstand, but improves throttle response at the low end.

So, to answer your question more directly, the '94 turbo wagon would have the high pressure turbo engine.

I think I've got the info right; if I made a mistake, please point me in the right direction.

Hope this helps,

sperryrand
