The little light bulbs have burnt out. You're going to have to bite the bullet and take the cluster out to replace them. While you're at it, you might as well change the bulbs for the speedometer and RPM part of the cluster because they will burn out too. Check out Bay 13 for instructions to take out the instrument cluster.
