newbie question S60

That would be the GT option as in "Geartronic" (not Getrag)
I have it in my '03 S60 a use it regularly
Actually the 2.4 (or 2.5) Turbo engine is not at all peaky - quite the opposite.
For me, the advantage of the GT is to be predictive - choosing the correct gear in advance. To be honest, the auto shift program and kickdown is very well suited to this engine.

It comes down to personal preference and "fun" factor.
