The S60 has been far superior in the reliability area. Check Consumer Reports and check the brickboard. The S60 is not plagued by all the usual problems that you curse about with the 70 series. Of course, if you move up to a 2001 or newer S60, you will be paying more than a used S70. I know my next Volvo will be the more reliable S60. My 1996 850GLT has over 220k but has seen the repair shop way too much over the last 5 years. I realy love the car but I'm tired of 'check engine' lights, Evaps, rear seal,.............. well you know the rest. The wife will appreciate not taking it to the dealer so often.
